Join our community.
My religious path to this church has taken a few turns. Briefly, I was raised a Roman Catholic, yet also followed the traditions of the Jewish religion when I was 11 to 13 years old. As a young adult, I became a “divorced catholic” in a time of non-acceptance. Phil was raised Methodist so when we married, we joined the United Methodist church in Wellesley, MA.
In Wellesley, during the summer months, the protestant churches join together to share services due to low attendance levels. It was during these shared services that our family found the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church. The ministers and members of the church supported and helped us during our joys and trials for over 25 years.
When Phil and I moved to Harwich full time, we never thought we would find another church with that same connection, love, compassion and music as our church in Wellesley, until we came to this church. This is why we support Pilgrim Congregational Church!
A message from PCC member Laurie Gillespie- Lee
Laurie and her husband Phil
When you join our church we think of it like a covenant, an agreement. We all make promises.
Here is what we promise.
Pilgrim Church Promises -
To provide inspiring worship.
To encourage everyone to grow in faith and keep learning.
To create a community that welcomes everyone.
To strive to serve others.
New Members promise:
To commit to worship with us regularly, either in person or online.
To commit to continue to grow as a disciple - to learn more about faith.
To support the church financially.
To commit to serving others.
Church Members promise to receive new people.
When people join the church our congregation promises -
To welcome you wherever you are and wherever you are on life’s journey.
To make permanent space in our lives for new friends and strangers we hope will become friends.
That commitment to welcome one another is vital to a strong church. So as we grow as a congregation we agree to leave a place at the table newcomers.
