Pilgrim Church Stewardship 2020
The stewardship theme this year – “Faith in the Future” – calls for our spiritual response to new directions and opportunities in our Church. The theme expresses not only our willingness to preserve the Church’s historic prominence in the Harwich community, but also our commitment to explore new ways to expand our witness and leadership. It reflects the positive vision and belief that Pilgrim Church will move forward – with blessings of present health and future growth – through God’s grace.
Stewardship Month is your opportunity to reflect on our common vision for Pilgrim Church and how we can bring it to fruition. Time and talent we bring, for sure: in the musical gifts of the choir; volunteers for Izzy’s Team, the Knitting Group, the Opens Hands Ministry, docents for the historical exhibit, Wednesday strolls and Saturday breakfasts; food for memorial gatherings; souls for Bible study, prayer, and other spiritual enrichment; thoughtful work on boards and committees. All told we bring so much of who we are to this place we love.
We bring our financial support as well, knowing that this aspect of our response to God's open invitation is critical to the day-to-day operation of our church: supporting our missions; paying our bills; compensating our gifted staff, and generally making it possible for Pilgrim Church to exist in this material world.
Your generous support through your 2020 stewardship pledge is one tangible way to show your faith in our common vision for the future of Pilgrim Church. The richest blessings come to us as individuals and as a Church family when we open stores of time, talent, and treasure to faith-filled giving.
Faith in the Future anchors our approach to giving in a mind-set of abundance, a mind-set that these pledge-drive letters have emphasized over the past few years. It’s anchored in the belief we should be generous – charitable and philanthropic – no matter what. We don’t give because we are blessed. We are blessed because we give.
